Citrus fruits and savory kelp give this classic avocado toast a burst of flavor and a pop of color. This dish is the perfect snack - morning, noon, or night. Or you can top bite sized crostini with the same ingredients for a scrumptious, beautiful appetizer to share with friends.

This recipe uses a technique called supreming to prepare the citrus fruits, but if you are in a pinch, you can purchase pre-peeled citrus in the refrigerated produce aisle.

Featured Barnacle Products: Barnacle Kelp Seasoning - Kelp Pinch

4 pieces of bread

4 oz goat cheese

1 avocado

1 orange

1 grapefruit

1 tsp. Barnacle Kelp Seasoning - Kelp Pinch

1 tsp. olive oil

  1. Supreme the orange and grapefruit by using a knife to remove the rind and pith from the fruit. Start by cutting the ends off, then remove the pith using a knife to separate the fruit from the white pith.
  2. Finish supreming the fruit by cutting each segment out of the membrane, or simply cut cross sections of the oranges and grapefruit as seen above.
  3. Remove pit from the avocado, peel and slice into strips or dice.
  4. Toast bread to your liking and smear with goat cheese.
  5. Top toast with sliced avocado and citrus cross sections. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with Kelp Pinch.
