SERVINGS: makes 1 cup of butter

Savory butter with a delicate ocean flavor, bursting with salty umami. Great smeared on sourdough or used to season and sauté vegetables and seafood.

Featured Barnacle Products: Kelp Pinch (can use Kelp Pow or other Kelp Seasoning)



1/2 lb butter (or butter alternative)

3 large garlic cloves finely minced

2 Tbs Kelp Pinch (can use Kelp Pow or other Kelp Seasoning)

1 Tbs lemon zest

Salt and black pepper to taste


  1. Using an electric mixer combine room temperature butter, finely minced garlic, kelp, lemon zest, and salt and black pepper to taste.
  2. Place the butter in a closed container in the refrigerator for an hour, or until set.
  3. Serve as a spread at room temperature, or use for cooking.


Store in the refrigerator for up to a month, or for up to six months in the freezer.
