Job Title: Seasonal Content Creator      

Location: Juneau or Coastal, Alaska (preferred) or remote

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week

Pay: $25/hr or DOE

At Barnacle, we are on a mission to do good for our oceans, communities, and collective future. Since 2016, we’ve shared familiar, everyday foods made with Alaska-grown kelp like Bullwhip Hot Sauce, Kelp Chili Crisp, salsas, seasonings, kelp pickles, and more. As a Seasonal Content Creator, you'll help us share the story of our products through recipe development, using existing content to create snappy reels, by producing photo and video assets as needed, and copy writing.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced content creator to join our team for the season (with potential to extend!).

Specific Duties

Collaboration with the marketing team on content creation to optimize the user experience and ensure brand consistency across all channels

  • Create UGC style visual content using smartphone to film and photograph recipes, edit reels and photos, and post content

  • Keep informed of trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in digital marketing within the food and beverage space

  • Plan social media calendar including scheduling posts and stories, responding to to comments and questions

  • Coordinate with the marketing team to align content creation and scheduling with special releases, promotions, and current events

  • Other related assignments as necessary

Requirements

  • Experience growing an engaged audience on social platforms (on your account or a professional account)

  • Familiarity with key content KPIs: experience with social analytics and defining and measuring metrics of success on Instagram and Tiktok

  • Shooting/editing your own photo and video content is a plus, with comfort being on camera an additional plus, with that content being food-related content an extra additional plus

  • Must be willing to be on film

  • Visually driven and a creative

  • Bonus: experience with graphic design
