Sitka Spruce is an abundant evergreen in the Coastal Rainforest of Southeast Alaska. The fresh, bright green tips that bud each spring are used as a flavoring in syrup, jelly, beer and now sea salt. Sitka Spruce Tip Flake Sea Salt is made by infusing hand picked, bright green spring Spruce tips into delicate salt flakes. Nothing else is added.
With a distinct citrus and herbal flavor, it pairs well with seafood, chicken, pork, beef, vegetables and popcorn.

This salt is made by our friends Alaska Pure Sea Salt Co. based in Sitka, Alaska. They make some of the finest salts from the outer coast waters.

There's salt, and then there's Sitka Spruce Tip Salt!

I am so glad I tried this salt. It adds a delicious umami hint to everything I put it on. I started with just meats and seafoods, but now I add it to sauces, baked goods, and just about anything that needs salt. It's addicting. Plain old salt just doesn't cut it anymore!

I could eat this stuff all day, it was so amazing. I used this to top dishes, but nothing beats it on some sliced watermelon.

Awesome

A great taste and perfect for all the dishes I make at home in the cast iron pans

The spruce tip flavor is a little subtle, but gives a nice floral/citrusy note. The salt crystals themselves are large and flaky and have a beautiful green color. Makes for a great finishing salt.

How can it not be good?

I travel with it in my bag if we will be doing any cooking away from home because a sprinkle is perfect on everything and table salt will no longer do. This salt turned me into a salt snob.
