A year ago we started scheming with our friends at Wildfish Cannery about a coastal collaboration. We sent small test batches back and forth via floatplane, and crafted this epic flavor combination, Bullwhip Octopus.

There’s nothing like the canning process — heat, pressure, and time — to infuse the flavor of our favorite hot sauce's spicy piri piri peppers, garlic, and kelp into this tender, mouthwatering tinned octopus.

Bullwhip Kelp Hot Sauce is flavor first, heat second, and on a scale of “hint o’ spice” to “ignites the heat receptors,” this sits comfortably right in the middle — igniting your taste buds instead. And with a tender texture that is almost more reminiscent of pork than seafood, it’s perfect for even a new seafood eater! 

This octopus is sourced sustainably from fishermen in Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

You HAVE to try this!

This is absolutely amazing! We opened our first can last night for the whole family to try. Everyone liked it, including two 9-year-olds. We meant to put it on a salad, but then I ended up eating the whole rest of the can - it was so good, I couldn’t stop! Different parts/types of meat included, all delicious. The sauce is not very spicy but more of a pleasant warmth. The meat is so tender and delicate, like a perfectly cooked scallop but with absolutely zero graininess or sinewy texture. I just had to find the website today to order more and couldn’t help but write a rave review while I’m here! Even better to see how the company is supporting sustainability. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer!

This is so good. Octopus is high quality and not chewy, it's practically pork or steak, and the sauce is amazing, only very mildly spicy, not overwhelming.
