Alder Smoked Sea Salt is made by smoking salt flakes over burning Alder wood. Nothing else is added. This salt gives foods a “fresh off the grill” flavor. It’s delicious on salmon, red meat, chicken, pork, and veggies. Try it with coffee ice cream (yes, really!) and with your next Bloody Mary.

Alder Smoked Sea Salt is created with a focus on place and a passion for craft. Alder trees are prolific along the coastal rainforest of Southeast Alaska. For millenia, Alder has been used as the preferred wood for preserving food and smoking salmon.

This salt is made by our friends Alaska Pure Sea Salt Co. based in Sitka, Alaska. They make some of the finest salts from the outer coast waters.

Lots of uses!

Use on salmon, as a finishing salt on steak, in fresh salad, in hummus, in soups. Gives a lovely alder smoke flavor!

Dive Into Our Ingredients

You’re probably thinking, kelp? Like, seaweed? Yes!

Two fishermen are on a small boat in calm waters, gathering seaweed as misty mountains rise in the background. The scene is serene, with clear blue skies and gentle waves, highlighting the natural beauty of the coastal environment.
A dense mass of brown seaweed hangs over the waters edge, gently swaying with the movement of the water.
A person wearing brown overalls stands by the water, holding a long, curved piece of kelp in one hand and a bundle of bright yellow seaweed in the other. The backdrop features a serene ocean and distant hills under a partly cloudy sky.
